Avebury – A View Across the Circle

A slightly different shot of Avebury. Rather than The Cove or similar I thought I would try a shot right across the circle, north-east to south-west. Fortunately there were few people about. All the more surprising as it was a lovely evening.

During a visit to France in April I took this photo during a torrential storm in the Vosges. The Lumix GF1 had no problem with the conditions. At this point, 3000 feet above sea level, the rain was falling as snow and hail.

Sometimes you are in the right place at the right time. This holely cloud floated a hole in the treeline. I almost missed the shot as the cloud continued to break up! Taken on the Marlborough Downs.
